About the film-

Ford Foundation Professor of Economics Abhijit Banerjee collaborates with artist Sarnath Banerjee to create a unique medium blending social science and everyday life. Their project uses storytelling to challenge ideas like poverty and efficiency that shape policies with far-reaching consequences. Drawing from Professor Banerjee’s research, they explore themes of water, greed, and economic growth in a multi-character soap opera. The work combines scholarship, theater, and visual arts to present economic issues in an engaging, creative format that echoes the dramatic public lectures of the 19th century.
