Join us at Arthshila Ahmedabad for a conversation on ‘The Gujaratis: A Portrait of a Community’, with Salil Tripathi (Author) and Harmony Siganporia (Assistant Professor at MICCA).
DETAILS:
Date: 20 December 2024 | Friday
Time: 6:30 pm onwards.
The upcoming session promises to be an engaging exploration of identity, migration, and the rich tapestry of Gujarati life. This book unravels the entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and cultural nuances of Gujaratis across the world, delving into both the myths and realities that define this vibrant community. Harmony’s perspective adds a distinct depth to this conversation, especially as she examines intersections of culture and identity that go beyond the stereotypes. Her scholarly insights will illuminate how Gujaratis have navigated their diasporic journeys while maintaining a sense of ‘home’ across continents.
Expect an evening that’s more than just a book discussion—it’s a reflection on the human condition, the contradictions within communities, and the shared threads that connect us all. Whether it’s about the Parsis’ legacy or the Gujaratis’ pragmatic ethos, this session will be a heartfelt ode to the courage and complexity of community.
