Join us for a Book Reading Session on ‘Designs for the Pluriverse’ with Isha Talsania this Sunday at 11.30 am.

Making meaning in the vernacular – is an attempt to inquire whether complex concepts like ontological design, situatedness and social engineering can be understood coherently, if translated into vernacular language and approached through the lens of our everyday lives. The modern Indian identity is conflicted over the contradiction of ‘Westernized’ progressive skillsets for the 21st century versus the culturally rooted traditional belief systems. Can this duality be bridged so that these attitudes and languages become collaborative rather than competitive? The reading session will be a participatory format, where an excerpt from the book will be decoded in the participants’ mother tongue or regional language.

Isha Talsania is an architect and an educator, with keen interest in research and writing. She is interested in studying aspects of place-making as tools for eliciting a sense of wonder, thereby finding meaning in the multitudes of contexts co-existing within our society. She strive towards generating a dialogue between designers and other stakeholders for an equitable, accessible and dignified future for all.
