Arthshila Ahmedabad’s Film Showcase this week features ‘Akashpradeep’ by Pavel Paul and ‘Seedlings’ by Debraj Naiya.

Akashpradeep unfolds as a poignant film, weaving a narrative around the return of the aged protagonist, Janardan, to his family where he confronts the fact that he no longer belongs. Apart from other complications, he gets a glimpse of the extreme distress caused to his family due to the impact of the announcement of the NRC.

Seedlings explores the harsh reality that the world is a battlefield on multiple levels, with the most vulnerable victims being innocent children. Pain, devastation, and death become haunting nightmares for them. The central question posed by the narrative is whether these little hands will endure and find their way to a land of dreams, hope, and celebration.
