Arthshila Ahmedabad’s Film Showcase this week features To Let the World In, Vol. 1. This first part of a two-volume film project looks at a significant period in the history of contemporary Indian art from the early 1980s to 2012. The film features two generations of celebrated Indian artists who share recollections, reminiscences and concerns about their practice. This is the first film of its kind to be made in India, in a collaboration between an art historian and a film-maker who works with visual artists. The film is an invaluable document of a large chunk of Indian visual history.
