Mohammad Muneem is an adept film-maker and scriptwriter. Since 2014, he has been teaching song-writing & urdu poetry at the Liberal Arts department of Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune. Additionally, he facilitates an independent workshop (poetry/songwriting) titled Sarir-E-Khama.

He founded the band Alif in 2008. Alif’s videos are conceptualised and directed by him. Alif’s performance of music & poetry tells a powerful story that is relevant and bold, filled with colloquial references to our society, satirical music, poignant poetry, hope and celebration of strength. Alif has won several accolades, including an IRAA Award for the single Like a Sufi, the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for their single Lalnawath & the IIMA Award for ‘Best Folk Song’ Ride Home.
