Featuring powerful multi-media installations and compelling imagery by Hri Institute, the exhibition sparks conversations and fosters a collective dialogue on gender justice and empowerment. The Travelling Film Southasia features 18 compelling documentaries from 7 countries that provide multifaceted social, political and cultural dynamics from the bustling streets of Kathmandu to the serene landscapes of Myanmar with the urgent issue of sexual violence against women in South Asia through a thought-provoking exhibition curated by Hri Institute.
But the exploration goes beyond the screen as one indulges deeply within the urgent issue of sexual violence against women in South Asia. Through collaborative efforts of artists, filmmakers, and activists, this exhibition challenges conventional narratives, reimagining visual representations of gender-based violence through powerful multimedia installations and compelling imagery. Sparking conversations and fostering collective dialogue on gender justice and empowerment, this exhibition invites you to be a part of meaningful change.
Film Southasia will showcase an exhibition featuring posters spanning its 25-year history of showcasing documentaries from South Asia, including those honored with the prestigious Ram Bahadur Trophy. Moreover, as a part of the event, weekly screenings of documentary films from the esteemed collection of Travelling Film Southasia will take place every Friday.
