Join us as designer Rohina talks about Art1st Books – award-winning childrenโ€™s books that explore Indian art and artists. Discover the tactile nature of art and how design can enhance childrenโ€™s experience of books and art. Starting with โ€˜Eye Spy Indigenous Artโ€™, peek behind the scenes to learn about the design approach, production challenges, and what makes Art1st books so special. Finally, take your own ideas for a whirl and design an โ€˜artโ€™ experience for the child within!

๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ is an interdisciplinary designer. With a keen focus on childrenโ€™s products, she has worked with educational organizations to design for publications, digital products, communications, and brands. With Art1st, she has designed books including Art is a Verb, Abanindranathโ€™s House of Stories, Eye Spy Indigenous Art, Art is a Voice, and Ganesh Pyneโ€™s Twilight Dreams. Her work has been recognized by the Kyoorius Design Awards, IPPY Publisherโ€™s Awards, and Publishing Next Industry Awards.

โ€˜๐—˜๐˜†๐—ฒ ๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐˜† ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜€ ๐—”๐—ฟ๐˜โ€™ leads young readers to the magic of folk and tribal art traditions in India, from which emanate all motifs, designs, hues, shapes, strokes, and even ways of being in our culture. It covers 8 indigenous Indian painting traditions.
