About
Dr Saloni Bhatia is a conservation social scientist whose work bridges research, practice, and policy. As a Fellow at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), she co-leads an experimental and collaborative cross-institutional project called GRAZIER (Greater Resilience in Arid Zones through Exchange and Research), which explores the interplay between rangeland conservation, pastoralist well-being, and epistemic justice in Ladakh, where she did her PhD research. She also serves as co-chair for a group that studies human-wildlife interactions, at ATREE. Her interests are diverse and encompass various inter and multidisciplinary approaches broadly around people’s relationship with their environment.
Dr Aaron Savio Lobo is a naturalist at heart, a marine conservation scientist by training, and a gourmet by aspiration. That said, he tends to see the world through two lenses —Nature and Food. As the head of the marine programme at the Wildlife Conservation Society – India, his work centers on understanding the ecological and social impacts of food production and developing solutions through policy and practice. He earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge and has since managed projects across diverse countries and contexts. He is a member of the 13 member global IUCN SSC Marine Conservation Committee and serves as co-chair of the Sea Snake Specialist Group.
