Jake Parker Scott is a Canadian improviser/composer/multi-instrumentalist. Before moving to California to pursue an MFA in improvised music, Jake spent two winters studying raga music in Kolkata with pandit Shantanu Bhattacharyya. Jake spent this past fall in Indonesia researching ‘Transformation by Fire’ as a process that is central to both Javanese bronze gong smithing and the volcanic origins of Indonesia. He will present a concert of improvised music featuring a saxophone, various wind instruments, and electronics.
