About The Event

We are pleased to announce that as a part of the ongoing exhibition ‘Kaghazi Pairahan’, Arthshila Ahmedabad will host a Lecture-Performance, Exhibition Walkthrough, & Discussion on 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟬𝟲 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰.

𝗔𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 [𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱]: 𝗟𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗲𝗱.

An archive too can be [used] is a Lecture-Performance by Imaad Majeed informed by their body of work titled Testimony of the Disappeared. The multi-pronged installation looks at how the issue of enforced disappearances affects the Tamil community and is deeply inspired by the continuous protest (since February, 2017) of the Tamil mothers of the disappeared, one that is an extension of the decades-long Tamil resistance against Sinhala supremacist state oppression.

𝟲.𝟱𝟬 𝗽𝗺 𝗼𝗻𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀

𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗲𝗱 is a multidisciplinary artist, curator and writer based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. They are Director and Curator of the trilingual performance platform KACHA KACHA. They are one part of the artist collective ‘The Packet’ and VJ/DJ of ‘Packet Radio’ (SUPR FM).

𝗔𝘃𝗻𝗶 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶 is an interdisciplinary practitioner with her primary concerns lying between cultures of violence, memory, space and the body. She conceptualised and designed, the Confictorium, a Museum of Conflict in Ahmedabad and Raipur city and Mehnat Manzil, a Museum of work situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in 2013, 2022, and 2019 respectively.

𝗔𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗻 is an artist and his professional engagements with the visual arts also takes shape through writing, teaching and curation.
