Kaghazi Pairahan offers a reading room that reflects upon these matters of dissent, resistance, and social justice with programs that will explore the possibilities of photography and the forms it takes as resistance in the present moment. Through these materials and interventions, visitors are invited to explore diverse ways in which photography and print have been used to document, challenge, subvert, and sometimes even advocate for dominant power structures; and to consider ways in which these mediums can be used to effect change in dark times.

Editions JOJO started as a self-publishing imprint in 2019 and has since evolved to become an artist-led platform for photography based out of Mumbai whose activities are situated around a photobook library & publishing practice. Today the library hosts over 500 titles of historical and contemporary photography around the world. Editions JOJO leads programs such as exhibitions, a podcast, a YouTube channel, workshops and other pedagogic engagements. As a publisher, JOJO celebrates experimentation and play while questioning the role of images in shaping our understanding of the human experience in the modern world.

Devadeep Gupta is an artist and filmmaker based in Assam. His work is centred around the exploration of regional ecological uncertainties, critically examining institutionalized histories and contemporary mainstream perspectives.

Akshay Mahajan is an artist and his professional engagements with the visual arts also takes shape through writing, teaching and curation.

Kaamna Patel is a visual artist and book-maker, and also founder at Editions JOJO, a publishing imprint and cultural platform based in Mumbai.
