Shruti Mahajan, a visual artist and textile designer based in Hyderabad, presents an illustrated talk exploring her several collaborative projects, with a special focus on ‘Continuities of Construction’. This project, which will also be on display at Arthshila Santiniketan, assembles notes, sketches, photographs, and textiles to reflect on memory, architecture, and hands-on practice. ‘Continuities of Construction’ distils abstract ideas into mathematical patterns, transformed into material forms. Embracing the tactile qualities of conservation, art-making, and weaving, this presentation offers a glimpse into the process behind her work, rich with collaboration and shared vision.
Shruti Mahajan’s work responds to the complexities of identity, the ambiguous nature of belonging, and thinking about memory and nostalgia. Taking various forms, it is a collage of presence and absence, of what is lost and gained and has filmed the mappable along with indiscernible acts of faith, defiance, and hope. She works between mediums of paper, stationery, cloth, found objects, and layered narratives. She has exhibited her works at the India art fair with the Shrine Empire Gallery in 2025, participated in Delhi Contemporary Art Week, Chemould Prescott Road, Mumbai, British Council Delhi and many more.
Venue: Arthshila Santiniketan.
