Arthshila Ahmedabad in collaboration with Sphere Arts Education invites you for an engaging workshop, ‘Imagine, Augment!’, led by Gargi Datar and Shruti Sridharan. The workshop is in the context of the ongoing augmented reality exhibition ‘Looki Look’ by Aurélien Jeanney and Alliance Française d’Ahmedabad.

Join us, as we explore Aurélien stunning artworks, and discover the stories, characters and worlds hidden within them so we can bring them to life!

Over the course of the workshop, participants will learn theatre based techniques to use their bodies and voices in creative ways to bring imaginary and ‘out-of-world’ characters to life.Using simple material like fabric, paper and other found objects, they will then create their own ‘live performance installation’ that will take the viewers on a journey of discovery…. Of Imaginary Proportions!!

Participants are welcome to bring items from home, such as colourful fabrics (like dupattas or sarees), jackets, caps, and hats in different styles, and any fun objects or toys, preferably in bright colors. These materials will be used as-is and can be taken back after the session.

The workshop will culminate in a short showcase.Parents and caregivers are requested to join, and welcome to bring others along.

Sphere Arts Education is an Arts-based Education and Learning Consultancy. Sphere works with educators, art practitioners, and applied arts facilitators from Performance Arts, Visual Arts and Film to offer a more contemporary and holistic experience to Arts Education. Gargi Datar is a Mumbai-based film and stage actor, and a Kathak dancer. She graduated from Drama School Mumbai and has 15+ years of experience in films and TVCs. Gargi has been part of English, Marathi, and Hindi theatre circuits in Pune and Mumbai. A second-generation Kathak dancer, she teaches and performs Kathak. As a core team member at Sphere, Gargi brings enthusiasm and a strong understanding of theatre to facilitate learning among young learners.

Shruti Sridharan is founder-Director of Sphere Arts Education, Shruti is an Arts-based Educator with more than two decades of experience as an arts practitioner across various fields. She brings her experience in Writing and Publishing (Editor, Jetwings) and Learning & Development (Schools and Corporate Learning spaces) into Sphere.
