Sanjiv Shah has produced, directed and edited several documentaries on social and political issues and worked as independent editor for documentaries and the feature film MIRCH MASALA. Produced and directed a Gujarati film, Hun Hunshi Hunshilal – a musical, political satire. As a part of the exhibition The State of Housing (2018) in Mumbai, he directed a documentary looking at the housing crisis in India over the last 70 years.
Tanvi Karia is an architectural historian, curator, & architect by profession. She is currently the Convenor of the Charles Correa Foundation, Goa. She is the co-curator and editor of the book – Building a State: 75 Years of Architecture and Engineering in Gujarat. She worked as a Junior Archivist at CEPT Archives, Teaching Associate at CEPT University and was the Heritage Mapping Leader at India Lost and Found.
Nagari Short Film Competition is an annual competition designed to guide and develop films that focus on urban issues, specific to Indian cities.
Nagari 2023 has brought nine 7-minute documentaries that revolve around the theme of Reclaiming the Urban Commons through the Lens of Waste Management – addressing the generation, management, disposal, and treatment of waste in urban India and the individual stories of people affected by it.
