Picturing Life: On the art of Sudhir Patwardhan is a unique cinematic experience that brings Sudhir Patwardhan’s paintings to life. It explores the various aspects of the painter’s work by structuring the film around his journey as a painter in the city of Mumbai, oscillating between social and personal concerns. The film strives to capture the artist’s universe through weaving together visuals of the city and home with details of his paintings and his thoughts as texts, creating an intimate portrait of the artist.

Harshil Bhanushali’s practice attempts to observe landscape/life/city being in a ‘transit’. Decaying human emotion & architecture along with migration and loss of identity are some themes he has constantly lived around and imbibed. He completed his post-graduation in Film Direction from Whistling Woods International, Mumbai, in 2015. His ongoing projects include a fictional adaptation of Sudhir Patwardhan’s works. Recently this documentary film was screened at Art Mumbai.

Arpita Dhagat is a teacher and an artist, with a specialization in design and theatre techniques from the National School of Drama, New Delhi (2010-13). She has invested her energies in academics and performing arts with curiosity to explore collaborative – interdisciplinary art that brings value to storytelling. She has worked as a Cultural Outreach Programmer with LEAF Foundation, under which she has curated Abhivyakti City Arts Project in 2018. As the Founder member of Astitva Art Foundation, she aspires to develop Astitva Art Foundation into an interdisciplinary art school and arts community.
