Arthshila Ahmedabad’s Film Showcase this week features ‘Ancient Inventions – City Life ‘ by Phil Grabsky.

The episode is a part of the series ‘Ancient Inventions’ which takes viewers back to ancient times in search of the roots of technologies and social customs that set the stage for the world we know today. It demonstrates ways in which societies have coped with urban life ever since cities were invented ten thousand years ago and how many aspects of modern urban living, central heating, coin-operated slot machines, and even taxicab meters, originated in ancient times.
