18 : 00 | Santiniketan
Cameron, Coffee & Calcutta
Duration: 85 Minutes | English
Jane Richter, former UK school/college teacher, is originally from London, but her last 35 years have been spent on the beautiful Isle of Wight on UK’s south coast where she runs her own tour guiding company.
Close to her home once lived Julia Margaret Cameron, Victorian pioneer portrait photographer, famed for her innovative approach to photography as ‘high art’.
The film has many themes which include Julia’s life and work, (especially her Indian family history and later artistic achievements) Jane’s own Indian journey, 2 modern day Kolkatan writers and Santiniketan and Tagore, and also Calcutta’ big festival Durga Puja (in context)
